2 – Solving ‘Wicked Problems’

Think about an experience you may have had or heard about, where one little change or accident had a surprising outcome.

This might include something like:

  • Your bus running late, meaning you miss a connecting bus and then miss out on an important part of a class
  • Someone posted a comment on social media that goes viral, and it changes how people think about or treat the person
  • A teacher changing who everyone sits with in class, so you make a new friend (or get really annoyed at your new desk partner!)
  • A rule change in a sport that causes people to play differently

These unexpected things happen because they are part of a system.

We can often look at one part of a system to learn about other parts.
