Background

STEM Showdown is a program for year 5/6 students designed to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in the classroom. Students participate in a series of STEM challenges and collect points by completing the main task, and extension activities. Points are tallied to determine the STEM Showdown Champion and Runner Up. Teachers can also identify students for the category awards: – Creativity Award – Persistence Award – Encouragement Award You can enrol with the University of South Australia for participation certificates for all students involved and training and development certificates for the teachers that have delivered the program. Trophies and medals will also be supplied to the school for the Champions and Award winners. Please note, trophies, medals and certificates will only be supplied to schools that have been enrolled in the program.
