STEM Mini Showdown

STEM Mini Showdown is an exciting, hands-on STEM challenge program designed for Year 3 and 4 students. Through fun, curriculum-linked activities, students explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics as they experiment, solve problems, design and build solutions. STEM Mini Showdown helps build confidence and inspires the next generation of STEM thinkers!

Students participate in a series of STEM challenges:

Science – An investigation into electrostatics and scientific processes

Technology – Using Binary Coding to create bracelets and send secret messages and pictures

Engineering – Application of the engineering design process to create a balancing toy prototype

Mathematics – Using mathematical thinking to solve problems with and without numbers

At the end of the program all students will receive participation certificates from the Adelaide University. Teachers that deliver the program will also receive Professional Learning Certificates aligned with the teaching standards.

Please note, certificates will only be supplied to schools that have enrolled in the program.

The online resources are available for anyone to use for free. Adelaide University can also provide starter packs of equipment, contact us to find out if you are eligible for sponsorship to get a free equipment pack for your school.
